Remember me? I am the woman who put out a call under the banner, "A Mother's Plea for Help." It has been several months (seven to be exact) since our exchange and I wanted to report progress in my son's case. He has chosen to take an alternative route to dealing with his diagnosis through naturopathy and a number of positive lifestyle changes. He is doing remarkably well, is in glowing health and just returned from a trip abroad. Your correspondence, information and excellent advice led to my son's assumption of personal leadership for his health and the course of his life-- positive thoughts and a firm conviction to life and living.

I would want to expand on the message [above] to describe those weeks of vascillation, doubt, uncertainty, that preceded my son's decision to move beyond the diagnosis and commit to life.
Your words of inspiration and the many articles and books and e-mails from the "Alive and Well" family, including Christine Maggiore herself provided the sound research base to move forward with naturopathic treatments. My son did not quit, although he was devastated, mourned, went through a period of depression, questioned his faith and
my own.
In mid-September, a month and some weeks after the initial diagnosis, my son launched into the treatments, dietary changes, and spiritual-mental turn-around.
He was and is remarkable...he tuned out of all negative thoughts and would banish them immediately upon their appearance, which took a tremendous act of will. He had a complete diagnosis by a certified/licensed naturopath, who had specialized in immune systems re-building. In the meanwhile, I researched relentlessly on the internet, spoke to the authors of the latest research, tracked down remedies for secondary infections (the oral yeast infection) as far away as Australia and Germany, and prayed for my son's peace of mind and the efficacy of the natural healing.
My son committed to life, enrolled in classes (got A's), continued working without interruption, disciplined himself to the new diet regimin and the protocols of the natural supplements prescribed by the naturopath, which began with cleansing, moved on to balancing of the endocrines and other systems and finally to maintenance. He did not stop his daily exercise routines at the gym, either, but pushed forward. He looks wonderfully healthy, vibrant and confident---just like he always had--and I trust that he will continue to support his enhanced lifestyle.
This could not have happened without the infusion of life-affirming support from others, from you and from other members of the Alive and Well Group, from caring people who respected my son's personhood and embraced us both in the time of crisis and uncertainty. This life-defining experience has altered us both forever---we are grateful for the family of humanity that is so eager to reach out and share and support; we are grateful, too, for the wisdom which has led my son to seek , to find and to commit to health and life. That gratitude and love for all of the caring persons, for the wisdom of naturopathy, and "amazing grace" of the heavenly Father, has become a commitment to join with you in reaching out to others with a message of hope, love and an affirmation of life.
